Solid wood carved with distinct nose, pouty lips and slit eyes; scarification on forehead and beneath eye sockets. Fiber and cloth form an attachment for bamboo rods which simulate hair. In Babanki culture, the importance of skulls is noted; it was thought that ancestral spirits are embodied in the skulls of dead ancestors; skulls were housed in family dwellings.
