Full Catalogue Entry Lot 46: UNIQUE MISER'S PURSE OF CUT STEEL BEADS - A black oval all-over beaded sac with tip tassel is connected to an oblong beaded sac with bottom fringe by a section of black cotton knit mesh with a finished opening. One's item is placed in one of the sacs, a silver metal ring is tightened down on each end, and the middle of the bag can be either grasped or "hung" over one's belt, for hands-free function. Silver cut steel beading has a sparkly appearance. ca. 1920. Condition amazingly good, considering age. 13"L x 3"W.

Full Catalogue Entry Lot 49: SILVER MESH & SAPPHIRE COMPACT EVENING BAG - Of a rare style, the compact-style purse frame features an ornate hinge/lock mechanism embellished with 2 deep blue sapphire cabochons. A silver mesh sac (6"L) hangs from the frame. The wrist strap is a flat silver braid 5.75"L). The oval compact exterior is machined and engraved with a monogram; the interior has a mirror, the silvering of which is almost nonexistent, and a space for a lip rouge or powder container. ca.1915. Condition good for age, with surface scratches and tarnish, evidence of old repair at hinge.
